I am honored to share my latest contribution, Tales of Sea, Lust and Death, as part of Trigger #7: Ocean—an online series co-published by Fotomuseum Antwerpen – FOMU and Fw:Books accompanying their printed issue.
Extending the publication beyond its printed pages, this platform brings together works and perspectives that consider the ocean as an environment, a force and a way of thinking with images.
My contribution emerges from a long-term engagement with my late father’s maritime archive across the Indian and Pacific Oceans, where personal memory and colonial history collide. Navigating the archive as a daughter, artist, and researcher, the work explores the ocean as a shifting, tidal body where traces surface and disappear, and where hybrid photography becomes a site of encounter between research, materiality and narrative.
